What can possibly be better than coffee? How about coffee that comes with cute messages from song lyrics written on paper hearts? Get me one of those, please.

When I was in Denmark, I asked each student group to create a project that represented their values. It didn’t really matter what it was, as long as it would make a positive impact somehow. Ivona, Lucy and Winnie started a project in which they combined the values love, fun and encouragement. Through organized fun and creativity they wanted to inspire and encourage people to spread kindness and love. I like the phrase ‘organized fun’. Of course you can have all sorts of unorganized fun. But how cool is it if you start to think more strategic about fun? Fun as something that you don’t accidently stumble upon, but fun that you choose in your life, every day again.

Why did they choose lyrics and not any other messages? Because they speak to the heart, music is all about feelings and there are many words of wisdom in songs, the group explained.

They teamed up with a local coffee shop, and got them to use some of the cups they created. Other cups were left at the student (coffee) bar for other students to use. I’m happy to report that I also received one. It got a little bit smashed in my bag, despite of the (clean!) socks that I put into the cup to get it in one piece to the Netherlands. But drinking coffee from such a happy cup back at home was pure bliss. Especially because it somehow represented the hard work of the students and all the happiness they spread in the week that I was there.

Watch the video they made below.

Spreading love can be as simple as adding a little happy message to a coffee cup. Ask yourself: in what small way can I choose to make others happy today? Take half a minute to think of something, and just do it!

PS: In case you missed it, other student projects I showed so far were: a joy kit and kindness treasure hunt + box of dreams.

There are different brands of tea and chocolate here in the United States that give inspirational messages like this : ) I love being encouraged!
