I went on a magical mission (click if you can’t see the video). Magical missions are creative acts to brighten up a place. They are the translation of your happy daydreams to the real world. They add playfulness and zest to the everyday. They make people smile, hope and dream. They could take the form of a 1000 origami paper cranes, painting stains on the street, or creating wishing balloons. Let me expand on that last one.

Helium balloons have always fascinated me. Their natural tendency is to float while everything else on earth seems to fall. Their colours are uplifting (pun intended). When you release them they will do nothing less than travel the world and explore it with grace and perspective. They almost seem magical objects that flew over from a fairy tale land and accidently ended up in our hectic, grey world.

Now, you may have wished upon a star. But have you ever wished upon a balloon? The principle is the same: you stare into the sky in awe of its grandness while focussing on that one sparkling point in the air. You gather your dreams and carefully dig up your deepest desires. You formulate a wish, give it wings and let it float away.

You have the power, with the simplest means, to create magic in this world. Everything is here for you to use in any way you wish. Whether it is coloured rubber combined with light gas, or a small piece of paper folded in a certain way. Without you these things are materials without any meaning. With you, they can become tokens of hope, encouragement, kindness and love.
