This weekend I was in the north of The Netherlands for a fun & inspiring time with some of the people with whom I went to the World Youth Days in Madrid last summer. Saturday afternoon we went for a walk on the beach. I was really excited about going to the beach while there was snow, because I don’t believe I have ever seen that before.

Also, what is it about staring at beautiful scenery that makes all your unimportant worries fade to the background and makes you love life?

I would love to live close to the beach and go there all the time. I might pick a more tropical location though.

This is nuts! I’ve never seen snow on a beach before–nor have I ever even thought about such a thing. Thanks for sharing these pictures so I can see! They really are lovely pictures.

And I totally agree. It’s very easy to get lost in some beautiful scenery and just forget all the stuff that seemed so important just an hour ago. : ]

Me neither! It seems like a paradox doesn’t it? I normally associate the beach with summer and warmth

    Beautiful.

Oh, I would love to live close to the beach, too! Well, I need an hour (with car, of course:)) to come to the coast and it’s snow there in these cold days. :) But I would love to live closer…

An hour is doable, but not the thing you would just do any time.. It is great to live in a country lies next to the ocean though

It would be such an amazing experience, enjoying a beech while also experiencing snow. I guess I’ve never even imagined such a thing. I agree with you that living by the beach would be wonderful, I’m a person that is greatly calmed by water and nature and living near a beach would be such a blessing.

This is SO amazing! I got to the beach/see the ocean at least once a week, but snow where I live is very rare so its amazing to see a snowy beach.

I know EXACTLY what you mean about looking at a beautiful scenery and suddenly really loving life!! It’s such a wonderful feeling, isn’t it? Recently it’s been happening to me not only on beaches, but also when I’m just on a beautiful street and look at the pretty trees and feel the wind. So lovely.
I love those posts of yours when you talk about those topics… like that Angel in the Snow post. So full of truth, beauty and loving life.

Yeah it doesn’t have to be the beach or nature.. Thanks for telling me that, perhaps I will write more often about such topics/sentiments; it is something I really believe in :)

Sounds so beautiful, I LOVE The Netherlands, I guess I didn’t realize you were living there, maybe I need to catch up lol

Beautiful pics! The sand sort of reminds me of Santorini Island in Greece!

Wow this is just lovely! You’re very brave facing the winter winds on the beach but the photographic pay off was well worth it! xx

As a surfer, winter season may not be a favorable time for me. But seeing beautiful scenery like this compensates my yearning for outdoor activities. Taking photographs of a snowy beach with a view of stunning sunset reminds me that winter season can be fun and exciting too!
