I don’t consider myself a girly girl. I would be the girl who would climb trees, make tree houses, pretend to be a pirate, make pots of snot and take apart an old-CD player and get it to work again.
However, I do have girly features. I mean other than boobs (can I say that? I guess I can, this is my blog after all). So I have this love for twirling dresses, always have had, probably ever since I saw The sound of music.
So please girls, back me up here. Isn’t it just an awesome feeling to turn around and have your dress float and swirl around your body like an ultra-light hula-hoop? I certainly think so…

A twirly skirt it the best! I’m not really a girly girl either but I am a sucker for a cute dress with a swirly skirt :)

I get dizzy very easily, so i wouldn’t daredo this.
I once over did it when i was a girl and vomited like crazy :-)
Now i stay away from twirling although it does look fun.
My first suggestion would be Brixton Village and the market. I did lots of bloggging about it. It is on Victoria line and you take first left as you come out of the tube station. It is very diverse, people from all over the world, with lots of nice places to eat and great boutiques.
Second suggestion would be the South Bank. It is a bit touristy, but lots of Londoners go there. It is in the same side as London Eye, but i would start my tour from TheRoyal Festivsl Hal and upwards. There are nice places to eat and drink, it is by the river and there is always lots and lots happening. A lot of it is for free too. It is very arty and probably my favourite place in London.
I would also suggest The Tate Britain. One of the best modern art galleries in the world. And it is free. Worth going to see it. That is also on the same side as The Royal Festival Hall, half hour walk.
I would also say Borough Market which is open on Fridays and Saturdays. That is very near The Tate. It is a fabulous place and whilst there are tourists there, it is a Londoner’s market.
Enjoy your stay, London is great in the summer.
Also you might want to spend some time in Regents Park. FULL of roses and a nice place to chill out in. Also they have open air theatre performing Shakespeare. That is worth seeing too, as it is a very coold experience being in the park very late at night.

Whether a skirt or a dress, the twirl is what makes or breaks it for me! I’ve tried on pencil skirts before, only to feel confined. Here’s to twirling AND climbing trees!

i love twirling.
and really detest labels like ‘girly girl’. They’re so limiting.
I just found my new favourite dress (polkadots surprise surprise!) and I love the cut of it so much I bought it in two other patterns. It has just enough twirl to feel fun, but is long enough for me being a tall lady.

As a child I used to dream of dresses like that (I remember only one christmas dress that did this and one other polka-dotted skirt. They were my favourite)
