I have been to Paris only once before. At the time I remember passing Centre Pompidou (museum of modern art), but couldn’t visit. Ever since I have wanted to. So this weekend I did. There happened to be an exhibition on Salvador Dali. And I just happened to have read his autobiography (it’s not like I have read all biographies in the world as I was talking about Da Vinci yesterday: it just happens to be that the people I did read about were the subjects of temporary exhibitions while I was visiting, which was kind of neat). I love to know the stories behind the artist to see their work in context and understand where they came from. Although I don’t like all Dali’s work, I do feel fascinated by it. His crazy personality, bold color choices and surrealist scenarios shine through in many of his creations. I simply loved to stroll around and move closer to a painting to notice some extraordinary detail.

Do you know that feeling that when you have been exposed to art, you long to create yourself as well? That is me after Paris. Being exposed to new art, influences, colors, textures and designs is a great way to be inspired. Especially seeing paintings and drawings trigger me to pick up a pencil myself as well.

What makes you feel inspired?

Oh wow! I love that museum, I’ve been once, and it was so incredible! I love no. 5 in your photos. Those colours are amazing, and the concentric circles… I could stare at it all day!
So jealous of you! I love Paris.
