I built a house with my bare hands over Christmas together with my boyfriend. Not irrelevant detail: it was a candy house made out of cookie dough. I made my first gingerbread house a couple of years back, and I have been willing to make another one for a long time. Christmas seemed like a good moment. My favorite part is decorating. I love adding details and finishing touches that make the house come alive.

We gave the candy house away to family we were visiting, with only one condition: that it should be broken and eaten that day. I am happy to announce that it was as good as it looks: delicious ;)

So very very cute! It’s been awhile since I built a house ; ] but the last time I did, it came with all the pieces you just out together. Maybe I’ll make my own next year around the holidays though. Yours turned out great!

Thank you :) I would love to see if you do. I kind of want to make something even more ambitious now; was thinking of the Eiffel tower or something :D

Your house is adorable and is absolutely a ‘magical day dream’. I love the green sugar grass and little red friend. Making little gingerbread houses was such a huge part of my childhood, I attempted one this year with my children. Unfortunately they now think that a glue gun, school gun and a blow dryer are necessary components of ginger bread house making.

Whahaha. I can so get that! It took quite long for the icing to dry; was tempted at some point to use a blow dryer as well ;)

Firstly,I never thought I’d find someone who loves polka dots as much as I do (I own far too many polka dot-esque clothing) but it is clear that you do from your blog header photo, love it!

I really wanted to make a gingerbread house this year but never got round to it :( hope you have a good new year when it comes!
