I received a sunshine award by Style Dilettante. Thank you so much! Her blog shows us ‘the real LA’ and shares with us her adventures and discoveries in an inspiring and visual way. Go take a look at her blog for your doses of daily inspiration.

The Sunshine Award is awarded to a blogger whose positivity and creativity inspire others in the blogging world. The Sunshine award is given by bloggers to bloggers as a way to spread the bloggy love!

– thank the person who gave you this award
– write a post about it
– respond to the questions below
– pass it on to 10 bloggers who you feel really deserve it and send them a message to let them know
Questions:
1: Favorite color?
I love many colors. Mostly I like bright colors. Although pastels are charming as well. And I have a thing for red. But lately I am also loving turquoise. Ooh and I love the combination of the colors of the rainbow. Haha I quess I love color in general.
2: Favorite animal?
I love all baby animals. Anything tiny & cute & cuddly & preferably furry. I love the way monkeys move and behave, I like butterflies for their colors and ladybugs for the sentiment. As a kid I wanted a pet real bad. I preferred a mouse or a cat, later I wanted a piglet or chameleon. However, because my siblings were allergic I was only allowed to have a bird. I had two with no real success. The first one I owned died, the second one flew away. I once had a self-proclaimed ‘school-pet’ though in high school: a tadpole which me and Anne (yes, the one with who I went to Antwerp, the Efteling and so on) saved from our biology ‘life in the pond’ microscope lesson. While faking our need to go to the toilet we really went on a mission impossible hiding ‘Teunis’ (we named our tadpole after the biology assistant) in a small reservoir under our clothes to hide temporarily in our locker. After that we carried him around in a see-through cookie jar to all our classes for about two weeks or so (looking back, I don’t think all the teachers believed our ‘But sir, this is for a biology project, please allow us to bring him into class’), after which we set him free.
3: Favorite number?
I don’t really have a favorite number.
4: What perfume am I wearing now?
Pacific paradise by Escada. I love the summer fragrances by Escada.
5: Something you always wear and identify yourself with?
I don’t have any jewelry that I wear all the time. I have a bit of a polka dot obsession though, and I would say I could be identified by that characteristic.
6: What’s your passion?
I love making things. Creating. Whether it is drawing, painting, sewing a dress, conceptualizing ideas or making a soap bubble machine. I love many other things which include exploring the world around me and travelling, but I feel as though my main passion is simply creating stuff.
7: Giving or receiving?
This question reminded me of a kindergarten song with the phrase ‘love is something if you give it away, it ends up getting more’. I think through giving we often receive. Giving away time, money, love and attention often results in building up who we are, makes us stronger and attracts positivism.
8: What was the last eyeshadow you used?
I never use eye shadow (except for the embarrassing phase in high school when I thought it was acceptable to wear the same heavy blue eye shadow every single day and might have left evidence on this world of this clear misconception in the form of pictures). The last time I wore eye shadow was probably over a year ago in an attempt to make smokey-eyes on a girl’s night out.
9: Favorite day of the week?
Saturday. Sleeping in, guilt-free relaxing. Monday to Friday are mostly spent at my university and Sunday is too close to Monday.
10: Are your nails painted right now?
Nope. I often go through phases; I will go months and months without painting my nails and suddenly feel the urge to paint my colors three times a week.
Below are the bloggers I would like to pass this award to (in no particular order):
First of all I would like to hand all of the blogs below a virtual sunflower. It doesn’t smell as nice as a real one and you can not really put it in a vase, but hope you like it anyway. Since I am still considering myself a newbie in the blogging world, most of the blogs are recent discoveries. That doesn’t make them any less awesome though. So go visit them and let them know if you like them as well!
First of all her artwork is amazing. She takes great pictures and her blog is full of visual inspiration that makes you want to go outside and enjoy life.
I might be a bit biased because this girl also has her fair deal of being a globetrotter, which I think we have in common. Besides that, I think she is funny.
I was hooked from the moment this tumblr started ‘the November project’, spreading acts of love each and every day for al full month. It inspired me to spread love more actively as well.
Love the idea. Spreading love in public places by placing notes everywhere.
These two sisters have a crochet club in Athens, they knit in the park and other public places. Love the idea and spirit!
Crafts, design, photography and simply visual inspiration.
For everyone who wants to get involved and make the world a better place, but isn’t quite sure where to start because there are just too many organizations. Great initiative.
Such a talented and ambitious young lady. She even launched her own magazine!
I think her doodles are hilarious.
This lady is so talented! And the great thing is she shares her creative process with everyone so we can learn from it.
I hope these blogs will consider spreading the love!
