Your birthday is the day to feel special and have people around you who love you and celebrate with you that you are alive. My mom always decorates the room when it’s somebody’s birthday. I even remember my birthday being in summer camp as a child and she would secretly pass decorations to others in order to keep this tradition. And although it is a quite simple thing, I loved it and still love it. It’s just one of these things that makes the day a bit more special.
Now, my roommate, he does not have a mom or family living in the Netherlands to take on this noble task. So I decided to decorate his door with some balloons as a surprise in order to make his day a little bit more special.

When he came home from partying in a different city with some friends, he gave me this really big hug and said it was the only gift he received so far. I’m not sure if I was imagining or not, but he just looked so thankful :)

Ah, yes. Thank you for posting this one! I hadn’t seen the video before, and it goes so well with today’s link-up topic!! I’m actually really excited now that I’ve seen this because next week I’m going to be posting what I *did* with all the balloons on my floor, and I think maybe we have the same brain. <3
