“I’m looking for a plant that can survive without light and can bear cold temperatures.” The girl behind the counter looks at me puzzled, trying to determine how to politely deal with a stupid customer. Hastily I add: “I mean, I know all plants need light, but I would like to have a plant in my downstairs toilet, yet there is no window or natural light. Isn’t there one that would, say, die less quickly?”

This conversation probably explains my relationship with plants in a nutshell.

“Well, perhaps a cactus?” she tries. “Ehh, don’t they like places where there is sunshine all day and it’s extremely hot though, like a desert?”

She points me in the direction of the cactus aisle. I decide to ignore her advice and find a plant from my Google-curated-list of plants that need little sunshine instead.

Most of the large-scale renovation projects in our new home are done. Which means it’s finally time to move on to the more fun part: decoration, interior design and finishing touches! I would like to share a video of finishing the tiniest space in our home: our downstairs toilet.

Thanks! It has a Mediterranean feel to it: it makes me feel like we’re having holidays in our own home on good days! :D
