For those of you feeling gloomy, grumpy or plain out depressed, this is for you:
You are awesome, appreciated and loved.
I love that you try. I love that you fail – because it means you are learning!
I love that you are unique in your own special ways. I love your big dreams. I love your willingness to pursue them, even if you don’t know how to exactly yet.
You are worthy of love the way you are, where you are right now. Please realize that there is nothing you need to change to deserve love and acceptance.
It is OK to make mistakes. It is OK to feel bad. It is OK to take a nap, cry and be disappointed. Don’t expect yourself to be cheerful every minute of every day. Although I believe in your tremendous superpowers, even you need a little break every now and then.
With a little imagination, you can create colour and happiness wherever you go. You have tremendous power in your everyday choices and the way you choose to react to situations.
So stretch your limbs, sit straight, take a deep breath and focus on your blessings. What are you thankful for today? What are some good things that you have accomplished over the years and are proud of? What makes you feel good about yourself? Dress up, paint your nails, play good music, eat delicious food, read enticing stories and watch fascinating documentaries. Go outside. Walk around. Leave your cell phone at home and wander around without any purpose other than enjoyment. Make plans that excite you, talk to someone you love, clean your room and make a good cup of coffee. Do something you love and enjoy.
You, my friend, are good in every possible way. So good in fact, that I feel like singing about it (don’t worry – I won’t).
Also, I think you need more rainbows. So here is one. It is a special one filled with love and power and hope and joy and unicorn-granted-wishes and I am sending it to you. So you can create more rainbows and happiness in your own life as well.
